We want our students to succeed! All seven organizations within the Stockton Charter Collective prioritize students’ needs and focus on providing them with personalized instruction and hands-on learning experiences. Although these organizations differ in name, location, and specific instruction, they share the same basic principles: fostering creative, dynamic learning environments, upholding a rigorous academic experience, and making a lasting impact that empower students throughout their entire academic careers. Additionally, these organizations’ steadfast commitment to academic excellence, diversity, and sense of community perfectly position them to empower young minds. Academic Excellence and Beyond
Academic excellence is achieved when student-centered learning is the focus. Stockton Collegiate International School’s dedication to preparing their students for post-secondary education has earned them a ranking in the 2022 US News & World Report’s list of Best High Schools’ top 1% of public high schools and charter public high schools nationally. Stockton charter schools also go beyond academics and guide students to become skilled and confident global citizens. TEAM Charter Schools embrace a holistic approach to education. Along with traditional academics, they design their curriculum to incorporate character development, leadership skills, and real-world applications. Stallworth Charter School's curriculum also go beyond textbooks, as they educate their students to make responsible decisions and develop a strong character. Well-rounded students are equipped with knowledge, values and skills necessary to be successful in life.
Diversity
Upholding diverse, inclusive environments are also an essential feature of Stockton charter schools. Aspire Public Schools make it clear that they provide a rigorous and joyful academic experience so that students are encouraged to pursue paths in lives that are authentic to their identities. Aspire Schools actively promote inclusivity in order to disrupt systems that have historically oppressed marginalized communities. At Voices College-Bound Language Academies, students are taught to be read, write, and speak both English and Spanish proficiently. Their dual-language approach has a record of success, as Voices’ Latino students have been shown to outperform Latino students from nearby districts in both ELA and Math.
Community
Our schools understand the importance of a strong community. Unbound Stockton Community aims to foster community partnerships, retain local talent, and help their students gain knowledge and skills to be active contributors to local issues. They have even amassed over 80 letters of support from community leaders underscoring their value. KIPP Public School teachers echo the importance of community—Brandon Piasecki, Founding Science teacher at KIPP Stockton Middle School, shares, “I want to connect what they [my students] are learning in my class to their lives. I want to cultivate community through connecting points.” Kimanh Truong-Muñoz, Founding School Principal of KIPP Middle School, wants students to feel like they belong. She states, “KIPP Stockton Middle School will be a place that affirms, validates, and honors students’ experiences, because our students should feel confident, proud of themselves and their backgrounds, and know they are the leaders.”
